Được thành lập vào cuối những ngày hè năm 2005, D3net Band bao gồm các thành viên đang học tập ở nhiều nước khác nhau. Tinh thần giao lưu kết bạn qua âm nhạc đã giúp chúng tôi xóa tan khoảng cách địa lý và trở nên một gia đình thực sự. Điều đó không chỉ đúng với ban nhạc, mà đã trở thành một niềm tin của diễn đàn D3net: "Mình quen nhau qua D3, khoảng cách còn đâu?" (trích D3net Ca).

LỊCH SỬ D3BAND :

Được nhen nhóm từ ý tưởng của Lamnd, Kashmir trong những lần tâm sự gái gú . Sau đó nhân chuyến thăm Singapore của Lamnd, cùng với Pamarro, anh em đã bàn bạc thêm về vấn đề này và có những thử nghiệm với những ca khúc quen thuộc như Knockin' on the heaven door(GunNRoses), Honky Tonk Women(Rolling Stones), Nothing Else Matters(Metallica) v.v... Sau đó anh em đã đưa ý tưởng này lên D3net để biến ý tưởng thành hiện thực.

Qua đó D3Band được chính thức thành lập với những thành viên ban đầu là Ca sĩ phòng Trà (Trà's room) Lâm Đỗ, tay trống TienQueen, Rhymth Guitar Trung Pamarro kiêm Band Manager, Lít Guitar Trung Lếch và đặc biệt là có sự giúp sức của Kakalot và MrDungX về mặt thiết kế đồ họa và truyền thông.

Tuy vậy ban nhạc vẫn thiếu 1 cây bass, có đến hàng trăm tay bass đến thử việc nhưng Band vẫn chưa hài lòng. Một hôm cựu tay bass của nhóm The Physics là Kidphys đến thăm bạn mình là tay trống TienQueen chơi ở The Physics cũ xem dạo này làm ăn ra sao mới biết là D3Band đang thiếu bass (trích chuyện tay trống John Bonham của Led Zeppelin ) và buổi thu âm thử cùng band được bố trí ngay hôm đó, và cuối cùng thì bệ phóng cho 1st Project mới vững chắc với sự bổ xung tay bass cho ban nhạc.

Sau các buổi tập dượt và diễn với VNC Band thì hiện giờ tớ và Minh Châu đang tham gia chơi trong D3net Online Band, một ban nhạc của những người bạn chơi với nhau trên forum D3net và có điều đặc biệt là mỗi đứa ở một nơi rải rác từ Singapore, Mỹ, Canada, Úc, Ấn độ.

Sản phẩm đầu tay hiện giờ đang trong công đoạn hậu trường thu thanh chưa được phép tiết lộ của Band Manager là Trung Pamarro. Vừa rồi mới chụp mấy tấm ảnh trong buổi thu phần bass của project đầu. Phụ tùng đồ nghề là cây bass Fender đỏ và bộ sậu amply Marshall xịn từ Mỹ tuồn về.

ERIC JOHNSON ..LIVE IN NUS CAMPUS.


Tối qua là một buổi tối đáng nhớ, được đi xem đêm diễn duy nhất và lần đầu tiên của Eric Johnson ở Singapore. Lần đầu tiên biết đến Eric Johnson cũng là từ đĩa G3 Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani kinh điển xem từ hồi cấp 3. Bị Eric Johnson chinh phục bởi ca khúc Manhattan mang đầy tính jazzy và ấn tượng cả tay trống da đen đầu trông như quả dứa.

Cũng lâu rồi mới có dịp tụ tập bạn bè, vào quán bar, uống bia....và nghe Rock. Cũng vui vì được chụp ảnh cùng tay trống Tommy Taylor và tay bass kiêm double bass là Chris Maresh...ấn tượng về 2 nghệ sĩ này là rất cởi mở, đặc biệt là tay trống Tommy Taylor(học trống từ bé tí). Đặc biệt là cả 3 nghệ sĩ tham gia đêm diễn này đều được bình chọn đứng thứ nhất trong bản xếp hạng bởi The Austin Chronicle. 3 NGHỆ SĨ CHÍNH CỦA BUỔI DIỄN

Eric Johnson, Chris Maresh, and Tommy Taylor


Một điều đặc biệt và khá thú vị của đêm diễn là có sự góp mặt của họ hàng của Jimi Hendrix với cái tên có thể khiến các bạn ngã ngửa là Ricky Hendrix. Chỉ với Mái tóc, nước da, bộ râu...có thể khiến người ta liên tưởng ra một cái gì đó của Jimi Hendrix, tuy nhiên tiếng guitar không hoang dại và sáng tạo như Jimi Hendrix mà hơi kiểu lấy thịt đè người. Tuy nhiên thì tiếng guitar của ông anh em họ con rơi con vãi với Ricky Martins này vẫn có thể truyền lửa cho người nghe bằng việc đánh lại bản nhạc kinh điển Fire của ông anh họ nổi tiếng. Nhắc tới Fire thì cũng phải nhắc tới bản trống hoành tráng và rất khó cover mà Mitch Mitchell đã tạo ra cho Fire, tuy nhiên thì buổi tối hôm nay Tommy Taylor đã chinh phục khán giả rất thành công với tiếng trống liền mạch và chắc tay.

Trở lại với buổi diễn, ngoài việc hơi thất vọng vì bản nhạc yêu thích nhất của Eric Johnson từ buổi G3 là Manhattan không được diễn lại ra thì đó là một đêm nhạc rất xứng với cái giá 83 đô bỏ ra. Không diễn lại Manhattan phải chăng là thiếu đi tiếng trống khá đặc trưng của drummer Đầu Quả Dứa. Điểm nhấn của chương trình là bản nhạc quen thuộc Cliffs Of Dover có tên trong danh sách 100 Rock Solo guitar, rồi Trademark, S.R.V (viết tặng Steve Ray Vaughan), một bản nhạc mới trong album Bloom với tiết tấu vui vẻ trên nền điệu Twist.

Đáng nói nhất có lẽ là buổi gặp gỡ với Eric cùng band tại quán bar Blooie's với biểu tượng là Con Chó thổi phì phò. Cả hội gồm anh Đăng, anh Hiếu, anh Giảng, chị Tâm(ảnh chị rất xinh), Oanh, Huyền Kami, Trung và mình. Thiếu mất chú Châu vì vướng assignment ko đi được. Có đến năm trời rồi từ sau show Steve Vai mới lại được xem live show một nghệ sĩ nổi tiếng thế này. Nico cũng đi xem mặc dù sau buổi diễn ko đi quán bar cùng mọi người. Cả lũ chọn bàn gần TV và gần góc để nhạc cụ...tình cờ lại ngay gần bàn mà Eric Johnson's Band đặt trước. Ngồi một lúc thấy lác đác mấy chú vác guitar chạy lăng xăng xin chữ ký mới để ý là Eric vào...Đằng sau thấy tay trống Tommy Taylor là tớ ra xin chụp ảnh cùng luôn.

Hay nhất là anh Đăng vẽ phóng tác Eric ngay tại chỗ, với quả mũi dài đặc trưng của Eric. Lúc đấy Eric đang mải nói chuyện với em tiếp viên xinh tươi tóc nhuộm vàng khè...tuy thế nhưng cũng thấy Eric Johnson khá trân trọng bức vẽ này, lúc đi khỏi quán bar Eric cầm bức tranh theo và cũng ra cảm ơn. Anh em bon chen lại chụp thêm phát nữa với Tommy Taylor và cả với tay bass xuất thân từ jazz Chris Maresh... Anh Giảng có vẻ băn khoăn về mối quan hệ Ricky Jimi nên ra hỏi và chụp ảnh cùng Ricky Hendrix luôn, Ricky còn xin chụp lại phát nữa vì quả đầu cười tít quá nên bị nhắm mắt.

Đây là một đêm nhạc đáng nhớ và được tụ tập cùng bạn bè, đầu năm sau lại có buổi diễn của Dream Theater, một cái tên làm Progressive Rock đến gần hơn với công chúng...không biết có điều kiện đi xem được không nữa. G3 sau 2 năm cũng xem được 2 người, còn chờ sư phụ đầu trọc Joe Satriani nghe lời xui dại của Steve Vai và Eric Johnson sang Sing biểu diễn nữa là đủ bộ.

New CD version of this monster psych classic from Mexico City c.1968/69, one of the rarest and most desired psychedelic albums of all time! A great album, with all songs in English—heavy grooves, super fuzzified guitar and a raving, ranting, drooling savage garage sound.
Incredible Mexican mind expander from the late '60s that could have easily been on an 'Endless Journey' comp. Mind frying fuzz guitars, electronic psychedelic effects, swirling keyboards and drugged lyrics/vocals in English. A major find for fans of the genuine article....

The 13th Floor Elevators, 1966 (l-r): Tommy Hall, Roky Erickson, Stacy Sutherland, John Ike Walton, and Ronnie Leatherman

Walton says the band "got out of Texas, went to California, and started writing stuff out there." The Elevators basked in their moment of glory, rubbing shoulders with their peers in Moby Grape and the Grateful Dead. They headlined shows at the Avalon and pursued enlightenment. Friction plagued the band in the form of drugs, particularly speed.

"One of the things that upset Tommy most was speed, amphetamines," states Clementine Hall. "I remember Stacy saying, 'But Tommy, I've never felt love being poured on me like when I take amphetamines.' Tommy would say it was evil, bad for you, and Stacy would say, 'But I need to escape to the place where I am loved.' Benny liked speed for other reasons, not because he felt warm and mushy but because he could think faster and accomplish more.

"Tommy would say, 'The philosophy behind the righteous drugs is that they're drugs that have been used for centuries by Indians – peyote, mushrooms, marijuana, and by extension LSD. We don't use escape drugs, ever. We do not use pills or any addictive drugs. If you take them for pleasure, they become psychologically addictive. Nobody takes LSD for pleasure. It teaches you way too much about yourself.'"

A spectacular 3 CD set that includes all 4 albums (in total 45 tracks) released by this San Franciscan band of the late 1960's, plus singles, B-sides and material previously unavailable in Europe. The band fused a variety of musical genres including Blues, Middle Eastern, Folk, and good ole Acid Rock. Features David Lindley on guitar and various exotic stringed instruments and Chris Darrow who later replaced Jackson Browne in the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Incredible String Band - The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter

One of the more unusual groups to come out of Britain in the 1960s, the Incredible String Band were highly influential in their day with the likes of Robert Plant and the Rolling Stones citing them as references. The String Band is one of those groups that are very difficult to categorise, sometimes described as psychedelic folk music, they were certainly an early exponent of World Music in the UK.
The group came together in the mid-1960s. Clive Palmer and Robin Williamson had been playing together at Clive's Incredible Folk Club, a small folk club in Saucihall Street in Glasgow. They built up quite a following including Billy Connolly and Mike Heron, who later joined on guitar. They were a trio when Joe Boyd visited the club having heard about the band. He signed them to Elektra and they completed their first album, The Incredible String Band released in 1966. This showcased the fine writing talents of the three members and already showed, to a small extent, that they were moving beyond the usual folk style.
Hangman’s was the album which catapulted the String Band from the folk scene into the mainstream of psychedelia.
It was even more experimental than 5,000 Spirits. Both Mike and Robin were developing as multi-instrumentalists. Mike restricted himself to guitar, sitar and keyboards but Robin had built up an impressive repertoire including guitar, drums, Jew’s harp, whistle, harmonica, mandolin and sort of Arab fiddle called a gimbri.
